Today, I worked on a bunch of odds and ends and some bone scraps. I found some little matched septarian nodules. I am gonna get them ready for earrings. At first, I was just gonna have them rounded off, but now I think I want to make them circles. The backs were flat lapped. This OJ is so gorgeous in person. This auction was one of the few that I ever got into a bidding war over. I wanted it sooo bad. Yeah, it wasn't cheap. Here's a blurry one because I'm too tired to get another shot. I had some scraps of bone that I cabbed. I had no idea what to expect. I think these came free from an eBay box. This one is so nice in person. The whitish area at the top has some feldspar type flash going on. It's what I was telling Drummond Island Rocks in another thread. I thought it was metallic before I cabbed it. My trusty macro photo shows a little hairline that I missed. Can hardly see it in person. This little gembone is awesome! It is the absolute hardest pure agate bone that I have ever had. It polished like a diamond. I finished a few other little things and a big Nippomo marcasite, too. The marcasite broke when I tried to get it off the dop. Too impatient. Serves me right! Thanks for looking and happy cabbing!

I am always a fan of gem bone, but the OJ steals the show. Beautiful stone

The OJ is incredible! It's so shiny I think I can see myself in it! The bones are beautiful too, I've yet to see any in person.

You really do not know what you have until you are finished cabbing it. The ugliest piece of rock can be the prettiest cab. They each have their own character, too.

I forgot one and I can't believe that I forgot it! I was so psyched when I was finished. This was a small, thin slab but I got a nice big cab out of it. This has a beautiful high polish. The cab has dust or something on it in the picture. SOLD! Listed it yesterday and it sold right way- going to Singapore.
