Looks like I'm taking a trip out to Boise in the next few weeks here. I know my friend who lives there goes fly fishing in the Owyhee. Now that's where that cool painted jasper lives, yes? Any good spots I should check out? Any suggestions appreciated!

I think in the Rockhounding Idaho book you can find some Opal digs near Boise. I think the ones we went to were off Sommer Camp Rd near Squaw Creek. Or head West across the border around Succor Creek State Park for thundereggs and fossil leaves. As roy said, Graveyard Point is good. You probably need a 4WD though, cuz the dirt roads were pretty rutted. ~Roland
