Hello everyone. A few were curious about how my jade with agate pieces are coming along. Well, i'm not expecting too much from them. My main reason for combining the softer nephrite and super hard chalcedony, was so that with 36 grit, the "skin" of the Big Sur jade would be ground off. Here's a piece I pulled out early and coated with oil to bring out a little of the detailing. The local folks call this stuff "midnight". More to follow...the chalcedony, agate and jasper are going to get REALLY comfortable with coarse grind....for a long while.

Sweet piece of jade, Henry. Love the colors in that one. It's rounding out nicely too.

Lookin' good, Henry, and thanks for sharing your reasons for combining your agates and nephrite in rough grind.
