I will be traveling to St Paul, Minnesota on business on October 11-15. Do you guys know any rock shops or good places for rock hounding within a ~1 hour drive, or any RTH folk in that area?

Too bad Bob's Rock Shop is closed. It was in Prescott, WI. and was a great shop. Would have been a short drive. I sure do miss it!
The only other one I know that has good rough and tools is Rocks and Things in Princeton, MN, only 6 miles from me. A nice little shop but a long drive from St Paul.
ZRS Fossils is not bad but is more of a metaphysical, and tourist type of place. If I was coming to town I would stop because I give every shop at least 1 shot. At one time they had a piece Druzy Malachite that about 3' wide X 1" thick $$...........MrP

Come west of the twin cities and look for freshly plowed farm fields. Find the farmer and ask permission to hunt rocks. Laker type agates are often found in the farm fields.
Or come west about 4 hours and look through my rock shed. Coffee is always on. And my dog Jake is always ready to make new friends.
