Hi everyone, I have not posted for awhile so I thought I would put up a pendant I made on the weekend. I cabbed the stone several months ago but did the silver work this weekend. A custom job for a payback (horse trade). I took these with my iPhone 5 and am beginning to think its better than my Nikon D80 DSLR. Thanks for looking

I like everything about it: stone shape, back sheet shape, texture. Everything complements the stone. Congratulations!

Fabulous stone, fabulous work. How did you texture the silver?

Thanks:) The silver is textured with a Foredom hand hammer piece using the diamond pave bit/bur whatever you would call it:) I also like the finish it brings out in the metal. This texture actually sparkles like a diamond does in changing light.
Thanks again

Great work, Tom!!!!I really like that pave work, too. I went and bought the tip. The first one, the diamond fell right out of it, the second has so far stayed in, but I have only done a test bit with it. Love the pendant

Forgot to mention that rutilated quartz is one of my faves. I got a few at the gem show that are so amazing they went right into the specimen boxes and will not become jewelry. Someone told me the gold fibers are manganese, but I'm not sure.

Someone told me the gold fibers are manganese, but I'm not sure. Really fine work, well done! I like the thoughtful design that complements and highlights the stone while offering several visual levels of interest on its own. The stone is very nice. The included mineral needles are rutile (hence the stone name), which is titanium oxide. Titanium is the stuff used in the "skin" of the SR-71 Blackbird, the world's fastest airplane, because it can stand up to the intense heat generated by air friction at those speeds. It can be golden-hued as in your stone as well as reddish or silvery.

Gorgeous pendant! Rutilated quartz is one of my favorites & I really like the effect of the pave point.

I love the silver work (I'm sorry, but I don't like the stone!). That's a wonderful stippling effect you've got there.
