Been awhile since iv posted a pic of anything on here in a long time ...truth is I forgot password for photo bucket and been technology lazy lol!! But got that fixed so hope to post some slabs n cabs of what i have been up to here in next few days when I'm not so picture lazy ha ha ha. Well here is a neat cut of some tincup jasper more pics to come soon .....cheers folks .

That is jasper? Mel is spot on, unusual, is a very apt description.

No worries just thought maybe there was another name for it ...seems stones in this area have multiple names depending on who you talk to ha ha makes I.d and info hard at times , which I'm not very good at anyway .....just good at the challenge of getting it lol .

Wow what a nice bit of jasper. I've been wanting to go up there it's not that far from Fort Collins really.

You know, that looks like a metacinnabar I have somewhere around here that I got from someone in Arizona. Looks like a soft jasper with the red smears and spots throughout. If it is the same material, remember to wear protection when working it since that red is from mercury staining. If I remember correctly, it worked up really nicely.
