OK! I'm gonna do it. Just gotta nail down the dates, and figure out what shows I want to see. I'll be traveling with my friend Lily, whose dad is a geologist and flint-knapper living in Phoenix. She'll be there Feb 12-14, since she can't take too much time off work. However, I have several vacation days that I gotta use before they go bad, so I was thinking about flying in on the 9th or 10th... or even earlier. Is anyone else going to be there? I'd love to meet a few more crazy RTHers, although I guess more of you will be at Quartzite. Help guide me, please. Help keep me from spending my rent on rocks.

This is San Francisco we're talking about. Breathe wrong and you get the boot so the landlord can raise rent 10%.

I'll be exhibiting at the 22nd Street Show in booth C-3. Stop by and we'll talk gemstones, weather and flying!

I might be hitting the Quartzite show earlier, I also have vacation time I need to burn up at the end of the year, might put another week or so on the next year. I've never been to either show. I'm told to bring comfortable walking shoes.

We (JS GEMS) will be at the Kino Show Jan 30-Feb 15 in the Barranca Diamond/MK Diamond tent. The Kino Show is a must see as it is retail and wholesale, free to park and enter, and huge. And you can have the thrill of meeting me.

My wife wants to go to Tucson. She does lapidary & silversmithing, but her love is beads. What are the best shows for beads? Lynn

zarguy, she should shop my storage closet for beads. Worked at a bead store for 5 years before they went out of business. Trying to clear them out to make space for rocks!

micellular I keep telling her that she's got a bead shop at home! Every new project requires a trip to the bead store. That means 2.5 hrs to Las Vegas or 3.5 to Salt Lake City. When we lived in Cupertino, we just had to cross Lawrence Expressway for the closest bead shop. Lynn

Next to Longs? or next to Mervyn's? I can't remember if that was the same store. Once we went back to the Bay Area for vacation & my wife dragged the whole family to the one next to Long's. I liked the free paperback books box. She liked the beads. Lynn
