I'm stoked about seeing this preview Whales rule ! Moby Dick is unbelievable piece literature. It like every sentence was forged in to harden steel. Ron Howard makes a handsome film. He'll do an excellent job of bringing this 1820's event on the ocean to life.

The trailer commercial on TV looks good. Will have to check if there are any Hollywood d-bags on my "do not spend a dime on them" list staring in it.

I don't have a problem with the thread. Looks like a really good movie! There are simply people in Hollywood that I won't spend a dime of my money to support. The list is kinda long! Sometimes have to wait years to see a good movie - until it comes out on TV. Still haven't checked on who is in this one. I was also curious about someone joining here to comment on a movie. His post (and ID) probably needs to be deleted. Where dem new Mods be?

If Ron Howard made this movie(he did) than I will watch it......The trailer is kick ass crazy.... No didn't go to the above link, seen the previews,write-ups and trail a few months ago and watched and listened to Ron Howard on "Facebook" discussing this movie... He is so excited about this one!!! LOL (SO AM I)!!!!!!!!!!!
Have a few buddies of mine in Montana, that have met Ron Howard, when he was producing "Far and Away" with Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise... They said Ron was a down to earth guy, even eating breakfast with the ranchers in the area and BS'ing with the locals... (the movie was made 25 miles from my home town).. They also stated that Tom Cruise was a pure dickhead!! Didn't talk to nobody, always piloted out of the area by helicopter, wouldn't even leave the hotel room to visit the area of Billings to see the sites... So Ron Howard has two thumbs up from this old dog!!!!
Ron doesn't even live in California,he didn't want his kids in that kind of environment,so he and his wife moved to Connecticut to have a normal live away from Hollyweird...

I was also interested in seeing this, but have heard it got panned by the critics. But, I agree with Fossilman, if Ron Howard directed it, it's probably worth seeing. Plus, with Chris Helmsworth in it, it has to be worth seeing. (Although he will be forever James Hunt in my mind).

Got the opportunity to view this excellenty well done whale of a movie. I’ve watched it twice. A movie that could cause one perhaps, to do some research on the American classic, "Moby Dick". Which would be a wise course….
