Finally got around to calculating the speed of the FranTom 10" Combo. The belt was on the center pulleys when I got it and I haven't changed it (except to test). Am cutting and grinding at 1150 rpm. Any suggestions on saw blade speed for this unit? All (most) advice is welcome and appreciated. Don

If the motor is far enough away from the arbor, you can run the 2" on both motor & arbor for 1725 RPM. That's what many of us run. Give it a try & see how it feels. Lynn

Yep, 1725RPM for saw and wheels. I would personally take the stepped pulley off the motor and replace it with a 3", then run to the 3" on the unit.

I like to run my expandos at about 1450 to 1500 because I like a softer wheel, but that is just me and my way of sanding cabs. Bob

what's behind the theory on slower speed and softer expando wheel, Bob ? bobby1 less rpm speed equals less centrifugal force making the expando rubber not as firm?

I have a Graves cabmate with a 2 speed motor, with some softer stuff I use the low speed but if I use much force it makes the belts slip on the expando.
