I have been using Stadea 4" wet diamond polishing pads that I get from Amazon. I get the "premium" pads and have discovered that Stadea sells "Series Standard," "Series Super," and "Series Ultra" pads.
Does anyone have experience with this brand/series of polishing pads? Amazon list most all of their Stadea pads as "Premium" grade and I have had no response from Stadea.
Just curious.
thanks, Don

I do not have experience with those particular brands. But have used many 4 inch wet pads and they all seem to perform about the same. Just make sure they are wet or you will melt the rubber matrix. And do not spin them faster than 3600 RPM or you will also melt the rubber matrix. My very wet but very efficient slab face polisher, 100-200-400-800-1500-3000. $4 pads. All spinning on cheap Walmart 3600 RPM grinders with home made face plates. Pads glued to face plates with a good bit of pressure. Great for fast polish of flat faces. Maybe the black 50 grit pad would shape fast. Pads last a long time on agates, not so long on concrete. Wish I had a set of 10-12 inch pads. Note double ground fault

I have a couple of 30 grit pads - use them and a 50 to final "preform" (maybe not the right word) when I finish on the 100 grit 8" sc wheel.
Where do you find pads for $4 ?
Thanks for this input, I am just starting to get to the "buffing" part of this hobby. And will have more questions about that aspect of it all. thanks again/

McGill's Warehouse. they sell bulk marbles, LOL. Diamond blades too. Link: www.mcgillswarehouse.com/4in-polishing-padsOops, they are now $5.02. They are only 3mm thick. I paid more for 4 or 5mm thick. No matter, they last forever on hard rock like agate. Might as well buy the best since they last so long.
