It has too much rust on it to last long in Texas humidity. It would do much better in the dry climate of New Mexico. Just saying. Enjoy and let us know when to show up with our "big" rocks. Tom

Hi Tom. Maybe you can take comfort in that much red New Mexico dust swirls around my house.
A friend got the saw for $200 at an estate sale, and did some initial cleanup. I offered $300 because he had some time and sweat into it. I appreciate his letting me buy it, since I slept through that sale.

Congrats, Daniel! That was one heck of a deal. Looks like it is in fine shape, too.

the vise looks so new, I wonder if it was rebuilt. only paid $300 Looks either recently redone or maybe just not used a lot. Were you wearing a mask when you stole that? That is the most desirable style of HP saws.

Congratulations on the saw find. I don't think your saw has been redone, just not used much. The sticker over the arbor saying theses are sealed bearings is still there. Silver was used as a saw color from the factory not sure what years.the outside is showing rust, so it was probably stored outside. It probably has grease in the front cover over the worm gear, which I'd replace with 80 weight gear oil. But otherwise I'd run it, and enjoy it. Robert

Can't clean it until after Thanksgiving, but I will post photos of the cleaned saw. ... before I dirty it.
