I ordered some stuff from Madison Wi. a few days ago. The tracking number shows it went from the sorting facility in Madison, Wi. to the sorting facility Oak Creek Wi. that is 90 miles east of Madison and from Oak Creek Wi. to Beloit, where I live, which is 77 miles NE away from me, for a total of 167 miles before the USPS brings it to my place. I live 45 miles from Madison. Kind of goofy it had to go 122 miles out of the way to get to my house and make another stop at another sorting facility.

It makes you wonder... I bought a FRB from txrockhunter when he first started selling them. My box left Texas and completely overshot me here in Alabama...thankfully when it got to Pennsylvania the USPS turned it around and headed back to Dixie. That was 20+ pounds of rock they sent on a sightseeing trip!!!!

Yeah, same thing has happened to me several times. I sent something to Australia and it got all the way to LA before turning around and coming back home to my mailbox. It never got on the plane, lol! I ended up having to reprint the label and resend at my expense and there was no notice or anything on my package. 2nd time it arrived just fine. The worst thing that happened to me was shipping a friend a cab from WA to FL. 2 months. Obviously got lost under a seat or something. USPS doesn't have their A game on right now

I once sent a box of snakes from one socal city to a central cal city. Maybe 110 miles. The box was routed thru tennessee at the uPS hub. This because it was sent overnite 10:39am delivery and was routed to a different airport for local delivery. That was UPS. I assure you ups is using the most efficient methods. They are a private company after all.

I was in Modesto, but had a friend in Ceres that bought some herps from you. I still miss the huge male Diamond carpet python I had. Most docile snake I ever had and a far cry from the BRB's! Gorgeous snakes, but they can have a nasty temper! I'll never forget the night one of our Jungle Carpets managed to escape. The kids asked what would happen if he managed to get outside the house, so I mentioned he would seek someplace warm. My Son had seen snakes on the pavement at night before and asked what would happen if this one sought the warmth of the street in front of the house. My reply was "Speed bump!" and that stuck with him

I love diamond pythons. radioRegarding hub shipping. Think of it this way. Should they run a less than full truck 41 miles (but to scores of areas) or should they consolidate everything some where and send full trucks back out to the various regions?
