The Malachite cab with the bulls eye pattern was one of the first real cabs our Son cut at the tender age of 14 and has been in a special display for 15 years. He is getting married for the first time this September, so I had the idea to incorporate it into a jewelry piece for my Wife's birthday so she could wear it to the wedding. I cut another piece of Malachite in matching size and shape, but different pattern so as not to compete with his cab and set both in a Navajo style cuff bracelet.

Just meaning he is 29 and has finally found the special gal he wants to marry. Seems these days it is common to be married and divorced a time or two by age 30

Super nice shine on a hard to polish material. Kudos all around!

Details, craftsmanship and history (story) make that an heirloom piece...great gift. Cheers

That's a really nice piece! I love sentimental pieces. I have some Celtic coins, which are actually big jump rings. They are special to my husband and I, but I have yet to figure the right project for them. You put your special one to great use.

Thanks all! His cab was quite difficult to set as the corners were cut much lower than the rest of the stone and quite thin. I used heavy 26 ga bezel, so rolling it over the corners without breaking the Malachite was a challenge. I don't like the slight gap between bezel and stone, but quit while I was ahead. I would have been heartbroken if I had cracked the cab!

Beautiful silver work sets off this awesome piece and the (hi) story nails it.
