I wonder what media it will cut to make a 3-D object with @shotgunner ?
You know everyone will be coming up with all kinds of ideas with that technology.
A friend has plastic encasements made for the electronics field. Like a radar gun that police use. He contracts it with China for years now. The Chinese would use that technology quite a few years back to cut the injection mold.

Your cauliflower bezel could also hold a small candle. Neat little dish.

Are all being done. You really should Google it

I tried something similar but didn't have a press and drove over it with my truck. Not such good results though. Only 3 tons

Your cauliflower bezel could also hold a small candle. Neat little dish. It was quick Pat. Need a hydraulic press, called a bottle jack. Very cheap at Walmart. was using 1 ton, a small bottle jack can do 2-4 tons. toiv0 used a truck but has issues I believe. You can press a steel ball into the sheet metal and probably get a symmetrical flower. Oval rock makes a different shape. Shallow a flatter flower.

Someone made one for sintered cane sugar confections Any mold would benefit from such technology. Material is dependent on mill I suppose.
