Nice job!!! How big are the rings? 10g + ? diameter? I would love to make something like this for my husband. I have a tradition of getting him maille. He wears them out pretty quick. It's the only jewelry he will wear and, sadly, I don't make it. But, maybe I can swing some larger rings. About how many feet did you use?
I always enjoy your posts!

Easy not in Dave's vocabulary. if it's not a challenge it's not worth the pursuit.lol.if the guy that was going to buy it doesn't,I won't have a problem keeping it.it was about 3 straight hours of solder,pickle,solder,pickle..... Thank you I'm digging where your going with your metal work.try some silver sheet.it forms easier than copper in my opinion. a hair more spendy Dave

did you presolder 1/3 of the rings and speed weave or did you assemble and solder as you went?

Thank you all for your comments.the outside diameter of the rings is 14 mm.it took about 10' of 10 ga.to make all the rings. Dave WOW!!! That would be hard to do! I make Byzantine jewelry, too. However, my ID is 6.0 or 6.5mm with either 16 or 18 gauge. Lovely!

My Ring coil maker is home made. Works well. It has a chuck in it. To actually cut the coiled rings, I bought the setup made by David Arens years ago when they were less expensive. Both Pepe and Rio sell them.

Super cool. 5.5 ounces of wire is nothing to sneeze at!!!
Nice work. Can something like that sell for $150++?
Not nosy, but curious. Don't answer if I'm being to personal.

Still super nice. I wonder what that same piece in solid 14k would sell for!!! Over $4k in wire alone. Plus solder and time. Time is same no matter material.

That is one beast of a chain man. I would say you need to be a large person to wear that as it is made of massive material. 14 mm links of 10G that is unreal. I like the soldered look myself (sorry metalsmith but if Soham solders then I solder, he is my new hero LOL) Dave that is a survival ring, when the zombie apocalypse happens you can use it to buy stuff, one ring at a time:)
One question did you make the T end piece or is that a purchase, it looks like it has a stamp on it so I am guessing bought?
Very nice.

Did you forget that I'm the stamp master?in the center of the bar its stamped STER. Then on the ends of the bar I stamped my initials D on one side T on the other.i never buy pre-fab stuf, Soham doesn't .lol Dave
