Ditto on all the well-wishes. Do it. You don't want "what ifs" nagging you later on because you didn't. To have mentioned it here I think a strong part of you wants to do it. You'll be great in the interview!!!!....just as you are in your artistry and craftsmanship!!! And...CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!

Make sure you request a digital file of the magazine article Tela.
Makes great fodder for web/Etsy sites. They probably want your stellar images. May ask you to sign an image release form if they do use your images.
In the end, suck up all the sugar you can get and prepare your neck muscles to hold up your head as you deserve every bit of it.
Comes a time when deserving people have achieved great skill and such needs to be shared.

Fyi, never turn down free publicity.
You cannot buy that kind of love.

But demand in return photo credit on ALL future uses. You decide how to define what "credit" will be. They will do it. They do reuse free images like this. Payment is continued recognition.

I especially like the "wetland accelerated patina" Let me tell you Billy, those bowls come from the factory with a 1/16 inch greasy graphite lubricant coating. No soap or no scrubbing will remove it, but two weeks of flash rust and it simply falls off.

I got a quote on a full sized ad for this sectional title page in that magazine Tom. Low side of 5 digits. Darn right the writer got to keep the featured fire pit.

Good news, bad news.
Good news: They like my pictures enough to use them which makes me feel really good. That's not often the case.
Bad news: I'm turning them down. I would feel like a fraud for getting publicity for a style that I don't normally do. Anyone searching me out, after seeing the article, is going to find wire wrapping which is not even close to the settings they were most interested in. As much as I want to do it, I can't. I wouldn't feel right and at the end of the day that is what matters most to me.
Thanks for the well wishes and opinions y'all. I really appreciate it.

That's why I have a problem with it. I don't blame them for wanting what they do. It's their magazine. I just don't think I am a fit for what they want.
