I picked this up about 15 years ago as part of an old collection I bought. It had a piece of tape on it that likely held an ID at one time or other, but had long since faded away. It very near, or as hard as Agate and is not dyed. The pic is a bit darker than the actual material which is a faded denim blue and a blueish white in the lighter areas. Makes gorgeous cabs and takes a decent polish, but seems a wee bit grainy

That was my original thought, but never seen any with the mottled, sponge like pattern this piece has, so it threw me. All I've ever seen has more of a streaked appearance. Leave it to the gentleman I bought the stuff from to find and stash the unusual!

Naw... Blue quartz is technically close. Its blue quartzite, from the macauba region of brazil. Explains the "grainy" comment by Arlen. radioIf you want some in your kitchen google "macauba azul granite" Ok here ya go.
