Nice job on those! I have played with shapes and flat bevels on a variety of materials, but not sure i would have the patience for actual faceting

Who cares what you call them, facetchons cabochets, just nice. FWIW I would have no problem with calling them cabochons. Nice polish by the way, I know how hard it is to get a polish on that stuff.

Thanks your esteemed opinions do matter. I read somewhere - possibly here - that AlO (Al2O3 to be strictly correct) was the thing for Jade. I have enough Jade to warrant the outlay and your kind comments suggest early pay-back. Thank you!

Well I found Cogswell (Creative Stone-setting) identifies cabs with flat tops and bottoms as a variant of cabochons he terms 'buff-tops'. Cabs have curved tops flat bottoms and doubles have curved top and base. I'm sure you knew the last two, but just for info and completeness.
