This one isn't finished yet - I came across a dealer selling Fischer stone at a gem show. I had never heard of it before and was quite intrigued so I bought one small slabette - just enough for this one cab. I'll post finished pictures when I finish it some day haha. tagging Roger

Nice Tommy ! I will be very curious to see how mine cab out. The slabs just don't look that impressive compared to some of the finished cabs I have seen.

I just picked up a slab of this as a door prize! I was wondering what it was. It looks like a twin to yours, Roger.

I just picked up a slab of this as a door prize! I was wondering what it was. It looks like a twin to yours, Roger. Pretty much exactly what mine looked like before I started grinding on it. A lot of the pieces the dendrite pattern seemed very shallow and I was worried about grinding it away so I spent a lot of time picking out one where the dendrites went all the way through the piece - showing on top and bottom. Still not sure if I like it or not - I might toss it in the tumbler.

I think it looks great already! I really like those stones. I don't care if they are natural or not.

I'd wonder as I took more and more layers off the top if the brown dendrites would leak out! Hope not! It's an interesting stone.

radioI will soon have enough samples to play with. If i take this concept and morph it into something very new, do i get to name it after myself?

Pretty cool slab, wondering if a person polished a cabachon first then did the process? I heard the dendrites are not very deep.

I've wondered that too - the piece I have the dendrites go all the way through the slabbette - BUT that wasn't the norm. I had to pick through several dozen pieces to find one that I was confident I wouldn't lose the pattern.

It took a great polish but it is a little milky. Not bad stone though

That's really nice Roger. Did it seem milky before you started or could it have come in in the polishing process?

That's really nice Roger. Did it seem milky before you started or could it have come in in the polishing process? The milky spot is on the upper right quarter of the dendrite. It was there from the start =\ I just picked some more of it, two are white/clear. They should make some very nice cabs. Will post some photos later in the week.
