Doh! I can't see the video. But, I live close to the largest jet base in the world. Oceana, Virginia Beach. When they fly, you know it! A popular bumper sticker is: I love jet noise- the sound of freedom.
I love the noise too!! I get depressed on Fridays knowing that they won't be flying over the weekends. They are practicing for an airshow this weekend. I'm having trouble getting the videos to work...but I will keep trying.
Tell me if you don't want it here, I'll take it down.
While heading home from the desert, we sometimes used to see the Blue Angels practicing over El Centro. In Ocotillo Wells, we'd see the Ospreys putting on a show, just for us! lol. We've also seen jets doing race-and-chases over Lake Alamo while we've been out there. Jean
I would imagine that to be Luke Airforce Base. MaMaMohs lives about a mile away Love watching them land-- take off serious they've made that more difficult to do ..
rockpickerforever Thanks Jean...you can leave the link, but I think it's working. I'm able to see them on my computer, phone and kindle. It took me a while to get them to work, not really sure how I did it.
The last guy was playing catch up-LOL........ I lived not to far from the Minot,ND Airbase (B52's home base)Seen those monsters everyday for 35 years, always pulled over on the back side of the base and watch the Bombers do touch and goes......NICE! When living in Montana our oilfield "roust a bouting" put us in the fly zones of the B1 Bombers from the Airbase in Great Falls, those pilots were totally crazy! They would "jam" us,coming in from behind and let it go with low fly by's! Scare the crap out of a guy! LOL They would circle back and give us the thumbs up and off they went! Love jets, military jet especially!!! Thanks for sharing the videos, they were great-Thumbs up...........

mohs Yes it is Luke AFB. The planes are one of my favorite things about moving to this house. You should head to Mama Moh's house this weekend for the show. Unfortunately I won't be able to watch, we are planning a surprise trip to L.A. to take my mother in law to a concert for her birthday which will be fun.
rockjunquie and Fossilman You should have seen me running all over the house trying to get the videos. Trying to figure if they were going to pass in front or the back of the house. I need a chair on the roof.
If you dont have it all the time, you love those military monstahs flying overhead. Enjoy if while you can and if you can.
We used to(before Y2K) get the Thunderbirds every two years here at Hanscom AFB but not any more. Was always a great time for parties; usually on or around 7/4. I miss them.

I used to live in Pensacola Florida, home of the Blue Angels. They used to fly over my house every week during practice. I lived on one of the landmarks they use, I guess. They were so close, I could hit them with a bottle rocket.... not that I would try, but they were really close. Got a free show every week. It was loud as all hell, but I still loved it.
We used to live in West Westchester---next door to Playa dark Rey by the LA Airport. We were 600' from the new (1978) north runway. Our neighborhood was reverse condemned.
With all the doors and windows closed, I could not read a story to our four little kids when a plane was landing or taking off. Awful.
Telephone conversations were also impossible. A friend lived at the other end of the runway. Interesting and frustrating.
We could see people in the planes. We waved if we were outside. We moved. Top criteria was that the area be quiet. Planes far overhead were fine. Could still carry one conversation. So glad we are out of there!
Sitting in a deer stand one morning in the desolate Blue Ridge Mountains when a fighter just feet above the trees came over supersonic. Had no idea what had happened.
Was looking at a piece of property in Florida. A real backwoods spot on the Santa Fe River. The owner a giant of a man, very peaceful southern fellow. He was cleaning fish not 100 feet from the river one day when a fighter out of control nose dived into the black muck just next to the river bank. traveling faster than sound this fellow had no idea the jet was coming. Pilot had safely ejected due to faulty controls. It covered him and his house with about 3 inches of black mud. Trying to imagine what was going thru that guys mind. If you met him you would start laughing. Very slow moving and talking. Interesting listening to him describe the experience. The military came out with equipment and dug it out. It was 30-40 feet in the muck. The mud was spread over a large area.
