We've tried two years in a row but for whatever reason couldn't get it done. I think this is the year we make it.
Richardson's ranch is on the list of doin's. Any other must-see advice for a first timer?

Haven't decided Prineville or Madras yet. I don't see any announcement of the digs for both, yet. Richardson's does usually open a special dig for both shows (it's been the off-limits Plume Bed for the last several years). The Prineville show usually announces what digs will be available sometime this month. Word of which digs will be held during the Madras show often come later. Prineville is usually less crowded on the digs, Madras has more vendors for shopping. - Prineville Pow Wow website- Madras Pow Wow website

We're pulling out at the crack of dawn tomorrow headed for Oregon and the Madras show. We plan on taking our time on the way up and visiting Crater Lake - neither of us have seen it yet. We've decided to avoid the digging stampedes and just do our own thing visiting both Richardson Ranch and Lucky strike for some t-egg digs... we will hit the show on Thursday and again on Saturday.
If anyone from RTH feels like saying howdy hit me up via PM.

Looks like it is going to be good weather too though a bit chilly for the ice cave (not that you can get in there very far anyway). If you are going to go to Richardson's, check in at the pow-wow desk near the front entrance to see if they are offering a trip this year to Richardson's plume egg bed - which is normally closed to digging. An opportunity to collect those smaller eggs is worth the small membership fee - not every egg has plume and you usually have to cut a lot of them in order to get a really good one that will yield slabs with plume, but the good pieces are rare and sell for good money.

Have to do Montana Agate first on my list. Went earlier this year but need at least three trips to fill the fix.
