I was really happy with the mix of colors and patterns in this batch. It took a bit longer than the first one, but there's no doubt that the results improved. I'm sure I'll get around to photographing these many different ways by type, by color, etc., in the time it takes to get the next batch done, but for now I went with throw them in a bowl, swish them around and take a few shots.
I plan on leaving these beside my recliner so I can shuffle through them until it's time to put the next batch in. Until next winter, that is. That's my mixed nut bowl, for sitting beside the fire cracking nuts.

They look great! The bowl is a nice display for them, did you make it?

You did a really nice job on those! I always appreciate when someone takes the necessary time in the first stage. You definitely did that. Those are some high quality rocks too.

Outstanding. I like the pastel jasper and the other shine, too. Where did you find such finds?

Outstanding. I like the pastel jasper and the other shine, too. Where did you find such finds? A few pieces I collected locally, but the majority were purchased online. Several vendors, I just picked what I liked. I think something like 35 lbs. of material showed up at Christmas. Unless I add another tumbler, our little Lortone is planned out for the year.

Guys like you, Jugglerguy and others on here make it possible for a beginner do this. Everyone is willing to share years of knowledge, methods tried and true. Pay attention to those that are getting the results you like and do what they're doing, that's my plan. Good material that takes a good shine, that's the other part of my plan.

Wow you are a professional. Love the blue jasper! Where did you buy that? Way better then my second batch (which are so bad I plan to retumble).

rockymom , if you are asking about the really blue (we like to say UK blue here in Kentucky) rocks, that is lapis lazuli.
I got that from a seller on Amazon called Crystal Allies. They had the best looking lapis, in my opinion, at the time I was looking for some. I wasn't disappointed. These weren't tumbled in the rotary with the others, they just went through the Lot-O stages with them. The rest of it is waiting for another day.

Sorry, there a few blues in there, so my brain goes to the 'bluest' blue. There is both picture jasper and desert jasper in the photos. I was happy with both. Desert jasper is from Rock Shed and picture jasper is from rocktumbler.com.

Thanks, cardiobill. I've been putting my new tile saw to use, but haven't cut any hearts yet. Those would have been a big hit when I worked in peds echo.
