a little juicy jade for Thursday. Had to scrap my first ring,in the process of trying to level the table the stone sits on,I undercut the prong and weakened it to the point of breaking.oh well!!she'll live again as something else.hope y'all enjoy. Dave

Perhaps not a total loss. With all of the prongs removed it might make a good place to solder a bezel.....

Art Deco much? Actually I love Art Deco and this ring is a real stunner. And pretty unique. Love it! How secure is that stone? Without holding it, it looks like it might be a bit short on the holding side.

The stone is very secure.the cab is high domed.the only way it's coming out is by force.it is a general rule of thumb that when your bezel is thick the prongs should be at least 1/3 the height of the dome to center. Dave

Well, I see you paid your penance for that beautiful ring! Remember, mistakes are just learning experiences. I'd say you are allowed a few. And- it was your first one, too. Now the rest of us mere mortals know you are at least part human. JK. You rock!

Dave Good to hear. But I wish people would stop using the phrase "rule of thumb"... Ugh.
