Agates are hard on the segment's. To dress on the fly add some 100 grit to expose more diamond

You can buy diamond sphere forming cups from Richon tools in China. Not a recommendation and I have never used them, just to let you know they are there.

I've purchased from Richontools quite a bit in the past with never a problem. I never purchased cups though mainly pads and other diamond tools/supplies.. Another place I've had good luck with is Aliexpress.com and Alibaba.com. I purchase a ton from those sites when I buy in bulk. I bought some sphere motors directly thru the manufacturer from Alibaba. Even a small test order was a good deal, but you usually have to buy in bulk thru Alibaba and it can be a pain to hammer out the deals sometimes due to poor English translation...but it's worth it usually. I haven't hooked up my sphere machine motors that I bought yet, but I expect they will be okay. I fix up old guitars and build some too, and I buy a lot of my parts and tools from those sites too. If you buy things in bulk, Alibaba is a good resource, and everything is usually negotiable even minimum quantities. I bought my initial grinding cups here: www.sphereheaven.com/equipment.htmI make the polishing cups with pvc fittings and cut up diamond pads. If you buy diamond pads, I would check the richontools, aliexpress, and alibaba sites though. I may try to find a cheaper source for the diamond/copper brazing rods..... Youtube video:
