Im a freshman at NKU in geology. My grandfather loved to tumble rocks and included me in his hobby and today I continue his passion, which is now my own.
It's great to find a forum of other people who also are interested in the inner beauty of what everyone else just thinks of as a rock!

A good place to learn the ropes. Lots of knowledge here. Just don't be afraid to ask. I will start, where in SW Ohio? I'm a Bellbrook guy.

If it's alright to ask...where do you find cool rocks in the area?

Welcome jennielee from another new member here. Love the story about your grandfather. I am enjoying tumbling with my 9 year old grandson...he is the true rock hound in the family. I don't think there is a day that he does not come home from school without a rock or two (or twenty) in his pocket or book bag. I love the look on his face when we get new and different material.

How nice to see young people in this hobby! Even nicer to carry on your grand-dad's hobby and to link it to the geologist profession.
Welcome!

Welcome to the forum Jen. Hope you have a great experience with everyone here. I live in Utah, and have a good size collection myself, but The cool thing about joining is getting involved in traveling Boxes, trips, and rock exchanges.
