Hi everyone! Really excited to learn more about this great hobby. So much to learn! Looks overwhelming sometimes to this beginner, but I plan on pursuing this for the duration. Apparently, I have been living in a rich geological area and not fully seeing it that way. This has made our little part of the desert Southwest come to life! Seeing simple stones sitting on the ground turn into things of beauty is an amazing eye opener.

I lived in LHC on the AZ side of the lake for 15 years. There's great hounding and gold picking out in those old, worn down hills. Thundereggs, lace agate, jasper, quartz crystals, fossils, etc. If you can ferry across the river, join up with the Lake Havasu Gem and Mineral Society.

Welcome to the forum. Yes, you are in a great spot for rock hounding. There is also a lot of purple agate in the area, the Needles blue agate is close by and much more.

Welcome to the forum. Hope you have a great experience with everyone here. I live in Utah, and have a good size collection myself, but The cool thing about joining is getting involved in traveling Boxes, trips, and rock exchanges.
