I ran a very small batch through the Lot O to get my July cab contest entry done in time and what it lacked in quantity, it made up in quality. I got my favorite tumble out of that load, plus a few more I really liked. There were a handful of mini Rio slabs, these rocks and a good deal of ceramics.

I haven't found a bad angle on it yet. When photographed at an angle and lit from behind also, the brown from the back shows through the front.
I have also been wanting to try something other than agate and jaspers, so we ran a batch of Apache tears. They're ok individually, but impressive en masse. Glad we gave them a try.

That middle stone in the first picture is amazing! And the photography is incredible. I'm out of adjectives.

Didn't you just start tumbling this year? I think you've got it figured out!

Great tumbles really good stuff!!! I think the middle one in the first pic is some Porcelain Jasper from the Wiley Wells arra. It a series of veins running up a Calder side. It's hard rock mining getting part of the vein out! Well worth it tho!

Thanks everybody, I appreciate the comments. I've had fun and learned a lot since January. Wouldn't have been the same experience without a forum like this and the good folks that participate.

I love that agate with the little swirl at the top. I love them all, but that's just such a neat little accent to that rock.

Somehow I missed this the first time. You have such nice material to work with and do an awesome job with it. I love that second to last picture. I love how you made them trail off in that S shape. You're a great photographer.

I would have said Mel's Rio grande stuff. No? Randy, you are an inspiration. I study your images to reverse engineer the technique. That is a gift. Thank you.

Thanks Scott, I'm happy to have a never ending stream of willing subjects to photograph. Two hobbies I really enjoy ended up working well together.
That could be Mel's, but I didn't remember having any of his with green in it. I need to dig through my tumbling rough bin, there's got to be more of it somewhere.

I'd be really hard pressed to say which is my favorite as they're all awesome. I also now have a new appreciation for Apache Tears, never much cared for them but I sure like yours! Great job!
