Hello all. I was just curious as to what this might be. It has a dark green matrix with white inclusions. It does not scratch, but it is not jade. It feels dense and it has some surface translucency. What do you all think...translucent chert with quartz inclusions?? Henry

Why can't it be jade? With quartz inclusions?

quartz with epidosite, do you have Unakite or other epidosite-based granites near there?

There are gray-green jades wit included quartz but I suspect it's a Franciscan Formation chert. Lots occurs in that color and pattern all up and down the Pacific coast. Common as beach and stream pebbles all over Commiefornia....Mel

I heard another reasonable opinion that it's a combo of chert, serpentine and quartz.
