Well, this is the last of my "starter" rocks purchased from the Rock Shed. Well, I still have plenty left, but the barrels are full of stuff I've been buying from board members (agates, jasper, pet wood, etc). Lots of blue quartz and jasper in this batch. I tried a couple of single rock pictures this time to see how the iPhone does. Thanks again to everyone for all the knowledge shared! The lot... Top half in a bit more detail... Bottom half... Some jasper Unakite Bahia agate? Citrine

Looking good!!! Nice batch, I really like those brecciated jasper. That's a nice piece if turitella also, but I'm a sucker for Bahia's.

I really like that the cameras on cell phones now are quite good. I wish I had some control over aperture so I could setup my depth of field correctly. This phone has a very narrow band of "in focus" when close to your subject. I'm sure there's an app somewhere I just need to do some digging. I had a full blown DSLR setup not that long ago, but got tired of lugging it around everywhere. For 99% of the pictures I take, the phone works just fine. I could probably mess around with the lighting a bit more, but the 4-lamp overhead fixture does a decent enough job. I still wish I had my light cube setup!
And thank you for taking the time to reply. I can't wait for my next few batches to see how everything progresses!

Nice colorful mix. I like the bahia best. I add some bahia's to every grit order so I almost always have some rolling.

Those look great. Good shine and good photography. I think I like the jasper the best. It sure does shine!
