Finally found a little time to turn the torch on. Been 6 weeks since my last try. I have been wanting to get a piece of Fordite done. Next on my smithing wish list is a Petoskey stone. Plenty of mistakes while making this one but I stuck with it and it actually turned out pretty nice Chuck

Great job! I don't know what the problems were, but you certainly can't tell you had any.

Chuck, Looks flawless to me, excellent work. What are the approx. dimensions of the pendants on your Etsy site? Thanks - All of my etsy listings should have the dimensions of the stone and overall dimensions. The fordite cab in this one is 20mm x 30mm. I have not listed much of my silver work but this one is available. Chuck

I like the squiggly nature of that one. Different than what you usually do. I like what you usually do too, though. Nice to have options.

All my pieces have mistakes but end up working out, too. That's a beautiful piece but I think you're undervaluing your fordite pieces. Remember, it's a finite resource (no more product made since 1977 ban I think). When I've seen quality work like that on a big piece, they're never under $300. Just my 2 cents.

Went to the yearly arts center craft fair on friday and the woman who sells Fordite was there again. We talked for some time. Her pieces are gorgeous and flawless, like yours. Not one sells for under $300 and she does pretty well. She cuts her own, like you do. Just something for you to maybe think about, price-wise.

(insane)Great work. Monochrome fordite with a hint of blue. Quite seasonal! Just the smallest of gaps at the point. This is usually (on mine anyway) down to the bail limiting access and the effect of reinforcing the bezel making it stiff to work. I wonder, is your bail soldered? If not then you could fit the bezel tight then roll the bezel to finish. Just small a thought for that final 1%. Yes I have OCD...
