You did it! First time is a bear. Impressive that you tumbled such s big rock. Like your slab.
Which outside photo program did you use?

do not use any Program, just copied from the camera's memory Card to folder and then copied to photoBucket. It seems to be a very temperamental beast. I wonder if I can use Flikr and do the same thing? It seems less temperamental. Last night I had to shut Photobucket down 4 times as it became un-responsive.
And as the old saying goes,"that which does not kill you, makes you stronger"(it does sound better in German). Not sure I feel that much stronger at the moment!!

Well done on the one pounder. She's a beauty. Was that one of those nuggetized Texas jaspers pre-rounded by mother nature ? I use flickr. Photobucket disagrees with my Mac.(unresponsive) If you have a flickr photo starring at you on the screen(flickr screen in next post) you should be able to right click on it and click 'copy image'. That will give you the flickr address for that size photo. Then paste it into the forum's 'insert image' icon. Click 'insert image' icon and paste address to top line of image window. Remove the double dashes on each side of the below address, and the flickr address looks like this before pasting to 'insert image' icon: -- c1.staticflickr.com/1/660/32489702965_c0d79c4a15.jpg -- To be forum friendly the address will look like the below address if you remove the two asterisks at far left and far right. The 'insert image' icon puts it in this format. [*img src="https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/660/32489702965_c0d79c4a15.jpg" alt=" "*] The forum's 'insert image' icon simply adds [*img src=" AND " alt=" "*] to the flickr address(Without the asterisks). The asterisks have to be added to confuse the code and prevent posting the photo. For demonstrative purposes only. Hope this makes sense.

Henry, you have to be on this flickr screen to copy(for pasting) directly off photo for image address: www.flickr.com/photos/67205364@N06/32489702965/sizes/m/You can try a test run directly from above flickr link. It is the same photo addressed in the above post.(Medium(500 X 483)). I usually copy and paste flickr size Medium 800 for this forum. Or 'Large 1024' for full forum screen photo. Joking here, I hope I don't have to ever explain this again. Once is enough lol.

LOL I love looking at yalls pics tho and that big red tumble is awesome!!! It is a hassle Bill. Once done a 100 times it is a blindfolder. Copy/paste directly off flickr image is fastest A to B I can find. Facebook is real easy. However, imbedding a video to FB takes hours of load time lest I am missing something.

Nice rocks , glad you got the bucket figured out Ha, the old quarries probably on the back side. They pulled a lot of granite out of that area. Looks like you gave the ole lift a hard time. Looks rode hard and put up wet.

Have to apologize for not remembering where the big red tumble came from, I suspect the Zapata area as it was definitely river tumble. Whether I picked it up 40 years ago or I got it from someone else just not sure. I have bought some agate from a couple of folks over the years and it very well may have been in one of those lots. Noticed it about a year ago and as soon as I began reading about tumbling larger rock out here it's fate was sealed. There are some rocks you just don't want to cut and it will be taking a place in the "Cabinet".

Perfect candidates. Did you roll it with only other small rocks or did you roll it with one or more other big rocks ? I have bad luck with two 1 pounders running together as the bang on each other. Sometimes OK if barrel is turning slow like 20 RPM and 80%-85% full of rocks. Best to have a bunch of small barrels with big mouths and run the big ones by themselves. That one should sit in the display cabinet.

It ran with a couple of 1/2 pounders and the rest were 1 inch and less. Rotary for 80 and 220(extended run 10 days) and then vibrating tumbler for 70 hours. It only needed one 10 day run in the 80 with 4 recharges on 2 day intervals. In the future I am switching to 46/70 for the rough grind saving the 80 for preforms, quartz and obsidian and tigerseye. I have 2 or 3 large pieces waiting for the 220 stage as soon as I have enough ready for next stage.
Saw some Carnelian-like large tumbles at a Rock Shop in Ark Oct 2015 and they have been one of my goals ever since. Using River rounded is a definite plus for the large pieces. Those that you have posted pics of in the last 2 or 3 months gave me encouragement to give it a go.

The big rocks shapes fast. Eats the grit down fast. Makes coarser grit look enticing.
Will you run the same 1 inch rocks with a new big rock ?

Or simply download the Tapatalk app, add this forum and when you hit reply there are several tabs at the bottom to insert several different things. No cutting and pasting. Easy Easy
