A production haul. Wow how'd you do so many in one day? And they all seem flawless. I always have to sort through the ones I do and recycle about 80 percent of them because of scratches I missed. Very impressive. Here's one that didn't make the cut. I was grinding the shape on the 80 and this sealed seam opened up. I went ahead and finished it because I needed to do some agates to break in my wheel. But, it is unsellable. I could use some glue, but it's not really worth the trouble. It's a flame agate that ended up not looking so great.

Can you modify the shape? Seems too pretty to toss.

Can you modify the shape? Seems too pretty to toss. Probably not worth the effort. If you look on the back, the seam runs into the middle of the stone quite a bit. No way of knowing if it will open up again. It looked fully healed when I started it. I would have to grind out quite a bit.

Very nice i cam across some other cabs of yours when i was searching dino bone. Thought that was neat, great work on them cabs makes me relize i have work to do. Did you run across my etsy shop or were you looking here? One of the biggest reasons that I, and others, post our stuff is to show what you can do. You will totally get there! I haven't been at this too long. Practice makes perfect. And, as you may have noticed, we each have our own styles. For example, @roger, Tommy and I have vastly different cabs but they are all nice. Don't try to compare yourself to others. We all dance to the beat of our own drums.

The speed skill increases depends on aptitude and time commitment. I am not particularly talented at cutting cabs and am still a relative newcomer at 3 years into the hobby. But I have been cutting an average of 100 cabs a month since I started. I still have a lot to learn and long way to go before I can even pretend to think I am more than an amateur hobbyist. I look at the cabs others post here and I see the missed opportunities with my own cabs. Tommy's markup of his Valentines slab was an eye opener for me. I think most of us look at each others work and then quietly kick ourselves and start second guessing our approach or styles. It is that drive to improve and cut that cab our peers "ohhh" over that keeps a lot of us coming back and posting here. Well, that and the fact that the RTH family is one of the best communities on the net Still love that Hell's Canyon cab Tela. Awesome cut!

All great, as usual, but I'm partial to the Hell's Canyon and Morocco Seam. Good you got some warm weather to keep in practice. We're having a warm spell here in SoCal too after lots of chilly rain days and I'm using the break to get some slabbing done. New cabs to come soon.

Terrific set as always. I especially like the Paul Bunyan. I like red/white combos. I've always wanted to try it but haven't had the chance yet.
Peace,
Rich
