Just some ordinary cabs from some spectacular breaks in the winter doldrums. I did a few here and a few there. Yesterday it was 75, today it was too chilly for me to go out and take pictures, so I got some light tent pictures instead. I took advantage of the warmth yesterday to try out my new 220 nova wheel. AWESOME! Australian rhodonite which I guess is now being called imperial. The color is really fabulous! Laguna, I think. It's a hair more lavender than in the picture. A big bad a** green moss with fortification and druzy pockets- better in the hand. Feather agate- Indonesia An idunnoite with a litle druzy vug with micro sparkle crystals. Pretty agate whatever it is. rocky butte Paul Bunyun A killer red jasper. Not orange red, but red. Unfortunately, this is the last cab from the little piece I had. I don't know where it came from but the water did not run red. Takes a super polish! (Seems more like an agate than a jasper.) See my camera floating in the finish looking down. GYP with lots of marcasite Rio, I believe Hells Canyon A really cool Moroccan seam agate. The brown actually looks like hematite in the right light, like it does at the top here. Those few nice days really wet my apatite for more. Come on Spring!!!! Thanks for looking!

A production haul. Wow how'd you do so many in one day? And they all seem flawless. I always have to sort through the ones I do and recycle about 80 percent of them because of scratches I missed.
Very impressive.

Very impressive. I have my share of duds, too. Not for scratches really, but for things that open up or a pattern change when grinding. Do you wear optivisors? They really help to catch those scratches before you are finished with a cab. I get anywhere between 7 and 11 cabs done at a time. These were done over several warm days. I didn't post them all. I can't cab for long periods because I cab at the kitchen table.
