Hi there. Have not posted in quite a while as I keep rather busy renovating a cottage up on a mountain here on the island. Plus obligations at work, keep me from time on the machine too. So I got only time really on the run with sandpaper, and that means mostly working with Fire Agate. Missed a dateline for Valentine with this one (big heart is an unknown stone that I found hiking in the Austrian Alps two years ago (some type of rhyolite I suspect), with Topaz and Fire agate nearly ready to be used as insets) A recent Fire Agate that awaits prolonged work with bamboo-sticks to finish up And just about to finish, the Fire Agate for the above in close-up. And a new rather interesting piece on the table right now awaiting further cleanup and then carving in the back. Thanks for looking, Kurt

I love the hearts! The embedded stones are really cool. The fire agate heart is beautiful. The others look like real good quality, too.

I admire your patience, Kurt. I don't think I could work anything by hand like that... Beautiful works!

Peace,

I admire your patience, Kurt. I don't think I could work anything by hand like that... Beautiful works! I got time. I dont drive, so waiting in line somewhere or being on public transport allows me to do something other than everyone else around with their phones. I don't like to play video-games, and hence have not joined the Zombie-club. I don't read newspapers either anymore since about 3 years, as I'm fed up with all that bad news, and not willing to start every day with that. Last but not least, my grandmothers words are still ringing in my ears.... She always kept us busy with her "idle hands are up to no good!" statement. So as long as she was within sight, we always kept busy to avoid extra chores......

I agree Kurt. Don't spend much time in front of the TV, and don't care for the bad news either. Seems I always have something I'm working on or doing. Guess I never looked at it that way. Maybe someday I'll have to give it a try.

These are great pieces, Kurt. Too bad life gets in the way of hobbies!
