Fit looks like you did e first stage well, I don't see any large flaws. If you're not happy with the shine you can always move back a step or two and try again. If you give some details about what you did, someone here should be able to give you advice about how to improve. They look pretty good to me though, good job on completing your first batch!

I think I'm gonna repolish this whole batch and the one after it once the vibe comes in. I'm gonna use it just for polish stage for a while till I get another barrel. likely all my rough grinds will be in the rotaries even after I get the second barrel.

Yea, you will be throwing rocks at the rotary once you get a vibe, they will polish a brick and do it fast. Regardless, work. Photo 5 is an agate, not sure about the others. That agate looks same polish as others. So consistent. Surprised the slag turned out so good. Usually the hardest rocks polish best as if they steal the polish from the softer rocks/glass.
You are on the way. Congrats.

I think 4 and 5 are agates. I'm pretty sure 3 4 and 5 came out of the box of sj rough I got from Jeremy. they started off well rounded and went through the coarse grind in like a week.

Darn nice first batch . You will have a vibe before you know it and the addiction will continue to build .

Nice job! Congrats on getting that first batch through. I never got a one all the way through polish in rotary. There's a lot to learn in those first batches. Let's see some more.

Were you running smalls or ceramic media with these during finish grits ? plastic pellets Never tried plastics. Can't seem to mess up any loads using small agates and quartz pebbles. Vibe or rotary. Used to do all rotary finishing for several years. 30-220-500-14,000. But used agate/quartz smalls at about 25-30%. 10 days each 220-500-14,000. Usually used 3-4 cups of sugar in 500 and 14,000 rotary run, but not always. Always tumbled hard agates and quartz. Can't seem to wrap my head around plastics.
