Uh... does hamburger conceal Kentucky agate? Or just duds? Pretty much just a quartz ball.
I've thrown a handful of them in my creek at the house, as is. Looks like a bunch of brains laying around.
This is from last year, a couple big ones and a little tiny one.
I've quit bringing them home, got my share of brains. When one wears out, I just go to the creek and grab another one.

Hey Todd, great job on posting pics! We are somewhere in Alabama with about 170 miles to go. Patty is giving me a break from driving. I will try to post some pics tonight or tomorrow. Randy may remember that piece of agate that I gave you. I am sure he gave it to me...not that I did not appreciate it but I wanted to be sure you went home with some. They were going to hand out agate to all participants but Roland came down with something and could not make it. Lamon Flynn, our guide, was bringing some on Thursday to give out. What a great bunch of guys!

Thanks. How is it the username is different than what we see? The user name is what was used to register. In many cases it is what you see as the "display name." While the user name will always remain the same, and is always used for tagging, the display name can be changed within the profile to read whatever someone wants. Hope that helps. ETA: If you want to be sure of the user name for tagging, just let your cursor hover over the name that you see (in orange). A box will pop up with the correct user name preceded by the @ sign. Dave

Dave I get it. Just noticed that my user name and display names are slightly different. Capitalized versus not. Thanks.

I hunted on Thursday. Started out with Lamon Flynn as guide and ended up with Robin Reed. (Lamon went back to his truck before we got very far.) We hunted the Middle Fork and parked right by the creek. Someone said that this part had not been hunted yet, so they must take groups to different parts on different days. The 16 lbs. of agate, chert, iron rock and pet wood I brought home (on the left) and 5 rocks I got off of the give away table before the hunt (on the right). The 2 KY Agates I found! An agatized crinoid. The back of a 2 lb. hamburger rock. My 8 lb. hamburger geode. Robin got very excited when he examined it. Something to do with the black lines on it. I'd already read on here that there's usually nothing colorful inside, but kept it because of how Robin reacted. My son and I went to the rock show on Saturday. I bought 1/2 of a small hamburger geode and a slab for $5 each, and a nodule from Lamon that he convinced me would be good inside for $20. Later, jeri
