Found this at my Dad's place in Palm Desert, CA. No idea where it's from, but it's very purple with the veining or clustering of what I suspect may be olivine crystals. Any ideas? There is a slight iridescence to the purple.

Is the area volcanic or metamorphic? If 1) then likely olivine if 2) then likely epidote
I'm not sure about the purple... is it purple? Maybe the photo colour settings / light cast has removed it. It looks grey on my screen, which doesn't help identification.

Looks to me like purple quartz and honey calcite.

Thanks for the ideas. I'll try to get a better pic up. As I said, it was in desert landscaping in SE CA. Could've come from anywhere, but most likely the Southwest.
Purple quartz is a thing? Cool.
