So, Tommy, now that you have a bunch of feedback, what do YOU think about it?

So, Tommy, now that you have a bunch of feedback, what do YOU think about it? Well I guess it was interesting enough to pick up - and Eva likes its "rustic charm" lol - other than that I'm not too crazy about it. The solid rhyolite areas have an interesting purple hue but I dont think its enough to overcome the snooze factor ![(lol)](//storage.proboards.com/1258779/images/hyOivrcWsQyVjSKtYIub.gif) ![](https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170513/ed9cf40c80a052923f691621579a7d9e.jpg) ![](https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170513/57c1e992e5bfc60ea43d276cc932c34c.jpg) ![](https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170513/c8ba5068aa14609f025074080533d3a6.jpg)

I really like it, but I am a big fan of breccia and earth colors so this is right up my alley. I'm not a great fan of brown and the question I have for chip-board rhyolite is 'who wants to wear chip-board'. However it has truly taken a great shine. The design on the example piece is wonderful and I think that would be key to finding other cabs in your rough. Is the material saleable? Yes - absolutely! No matter what I or anyone else says about being 'ok' though, all you need is someone looking for earthy tones and I'm sure you'll find plenty and suddenly you have a market opportunity. Congrats!

Do you like the looks of this yes or no. If it's a no don't hesitate to tell me - I can take it. This is a first cab from a material that we found out in the desert on our way to Utah. We pulled off the freeway and down a long dirt road towards some hills just looking for a spot to rest and eat lunch and let the dog run around. Of course that was soon followed by rockhounding when we noticed this brecciated rhyolite type material laying around as float. We picked up several fist size pieces just as a sample to see if it was something that would be lapidary grade and it is. Holds together very well - the agate in between is somewhat pitted but seems to adds character. Overall it takes a great shine. I guess the true test will be if it sells or not and I don't see us making a special trip to get more but it's interesting and fun finding something new. ![](https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170510/182e3067d0fe5295412bcb5364ef5915.jpg) ![](https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170510/ef22b61d0caba3be9bc9865404078dab.jpg) ![](https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170510/62aa30c386391780eb90f1c117e24c1b.jpg) I love it! I really don't like it -- but that probably means it'll sell like crazy. When I was doing lots of craft shows I always used the "one-for-one" rule when creating jewelry designs: one I loved and one I hated. They sold equally well. Seems there's a market for every taste.
