Does anyone have any idea what this rock is? Just a red and white jasper maybe? I purchased it from a local pet store - it was labeled decorative aquarium rock. It was cheap, so I thought I would try it out, and it polishes up nicely. Usually when I break up rocks I just hit them with a hammer, but no matter how hard I hit this rock, I cannot get any more chunks off of it, which is a bummer because it really like it.
Here it is polished
For now I will just keep it until I figure out what to do with it.

Cut it up with a saw. Make a couple slabs. Chunk the rest. What did they charge for that. Used to pay lots of money for "living stone" from salt water fish store but it wasn't purdy like yours. Bigger hammer??. Send it to me and I will try to squeeze it bare hand. If I can break it like that I will throw it away so you don't have to pay shipping... grin.. Nice fun rock.

Hmmm, looks a lot like this rock I bought years ago and still haven't done anything with... I bought it as "San Simeon Brecciated Jasper", from California. (Shown wet.)
