My first impression of your photos is that it could be wascoite (which has a combination of white opalite, agate and opaque jasper in brown shades, sometimes with dendrites). Wascoite came from near the small town of Wasco in Sherman County, Oregon & was exposed by the same Christmas 1964 flood that yielded the Biggs jasper on downstream when they had to realign US Hwy97. After allowing collectors in to salvage some truckloads, it was paved over. There later was found a small deposit of similar material between Wasco and Rufus.
Light is fading, but I'll try to snap a photo of a chunk of wascoite so you can compare.

Here are a couple of shots of a piece of wascoite. This particular piece doesn't have much of the buff-colored translucent agate, however (it's mostly jasper and opalite): Wascoite often has layering of the agate, jasper and common opal (sometimes even, sometimes jumbled up), though not always.

That looks almost identical! Wow - what an interesting story to go with it. I love the abundance of knowledge here.

I hope you get a chance to take some slabs off it. Wascoite can give different patterns (landscapes, bull's eyes, layers) depending on the piece and how you orient it. Good carving material, too.

It probably would be beautiful to slice. My tools thus far are a toothbrush, black light, and hobby tumbler. Hopefully I'll get some adult tools soon lol

There is only 1 club here but I haven't been to a meeting. Tried chatting on facebook and almost immediately got snubbed. I love the people here - too bad we're so spaced out! I have so much material I would trade for some help in learning what to do with it!
