My sis an I were up at 4:30am, loaded the truck, filled our coffee cups, kissed our loved ones then hit the road for our 7 hr adventure to William Holland School of Lapidary Arts! This week we will be taking a Hands-On, in the field, Mineralogy 101 class. We're both super excited! Hoping to get the opportunity to learn a lot and be able to share our adventures here!! Also super excited about getting to meet/hang out/rockhound with Ann ( fantastic5) on the way home. STAY TUNED!!!! jamesp, should be coming through your neck of the woods around lunch. So... what's for lunch?

We're making a loop around out side of Atlanta now. Y'all common over. 14 miles south of your photos. Take first exit south when you get on to I-20 from the loop. Fulton Industrial Blvd., go south 14 miles to roundabout. Take Cedar Grove Road west 200 yards, turn left on Veal Rd. Go to end, turn left at fire pit. Go half mile.

Like jasper to collect ? Are you asking for a spot to collect jasper on your way down ? If so, you could look up/into Kingston Georgia jasper. It is not far from Cartersville Georgia close to I-75. You may return via I-85, not sure. Kingston is between Cartersville and Rome Ga. I don't care for garnets and staurolite. Gimme color. Typical colors, it can have fractures. Lots of weird colors. I can give you a location lest it has been developed. It's under a power line. fun one to collect. www.flickr.com/photos/67205364@N06/sets/72157635350617772

Or take you there on Saturday. About 1 1/2 hours south from my house.
