Old Lortone ST-10, the prerunner to the ls-10. I'm just curious. The pan has the usual three studs to anchor the frame down (not pictured, on the other side of the support wall), but there's this other extra long stud on the pan under the arbor (arbor not installed right now either - nightmare cleanup). Looks like there is paint on the weld for the stud, and the saw hasn't been modded at all, so I think it's factory. Just curious if anyone knows what it's function was? Looks to me like the ST-10 has a 16 pitch feed rod while the ls-10,12 etc have 24, otherwise, pretty identical, hope it doesn't saw too fast.

I don't have a bolt there on my ST-10. My saw is green, not yellow, so it might be a different year.

Green was before gold color followed by baby blue.

thanks for the 'negative' results - definitely factory, but no ideas here. ah well, back in action soon. Sounds like some folks have had success putting a 12" blade on these and raising them up a bit... hmmm.

Try asking this question on some of the Lapidary equipment groups on FB. It may have been added by the previous owner?

yeah, when you toss a rock back in the creek and pick it back up a second & third time, I've learned to keep it....
