I have a 6 inch "all in one" (I got a decent deal on it) after doing just one side on 2 different quartz pebbles I found on the beach, it seems I need to replace the 600 grit disc already (I think it's 600) anyway they seem to not last long at all. Figured these would be good to learn and practice on, plus a tumbler would be too noisy for my current living situation.
should I
cover the master place with felt (or something else?) could I then use bulk grit and recharge as needed or would this not work for the coarser grits? get the diamond discs from ebay/china? buy more of the peel and stick?
I'm trying to find a balance of cost and convince if that makes sense.
I do have some extra plastic plates I can dedicate to specific grits.
