No opinion from me without a proper specific gravity.
Would be some sweet jade if it's 3+

No opinion from me without a proper specific gravity. Would be some sweet jade if it's 3+ I have lots of agate/nephrite/jasper to compare it to; I'm pretty sure it's close to that but I'll weigh it soon; definitely not jade from this site although I do get that; nephrite, from the Fraser

How about break?
Have you busted a piece to see if/how it breaks?

Im not aware of any silica material that is 7+
Pure quartz is 7. So you are saying that a quartz crystal will not scratch it?

Im not aware of any silica material that is 7+ Pure quartz is 7. So you are saying that a quartz crystal will not scratch it? I won't open the can of worms about what scratches what :-) but no neither my porcelain jasper or a quartz crystal will "scratch" it. Yes I can make it fracture a quartz crystals structure and vice versa but that's a different story to me. I don't think like hardness materials will scratch each other, I think you can force them to fracture each others structure.
