Okay, lets try this again with slightly better pictures. EBay purchases at very reasonable prices. Very limited info. on the items though. Anyone have any ideas? So far "Montana Agate", from the other post.

Who? Never saw it. Who/What is Dr Who? Scott you need to come in from the wild hunting cool rocks and watch some TV I don't care for Dr. Who, I am more of a Star Trek guy. Dr. Who is a long running British sci fi series.

Looks to me like some of the Mad River agate from Madagascar. It has similarities to both Montana and Indian Black Skin.

While I'm a lifelong SF fan I've never much liked Dr. Who. I'm more of a fan of "extrapolative" SF that starts with what's scientifically known at present and plays "what if?" games, stretching the possibilities as far as physical laws will allow.
As for British SF authors, how about Mary Shelly, Aldous Huxley and George Orwell to add to Metalsmith's list? I cut my fandom teeth on the work of brilliant authors like Eric Frank Russell, Ian McDonald, Tanith Lee, Olaf Stapledon, John Brunner, Brian Aldiss, J.G. Ballard and other UK writers too numerous to mention.

Learned recently Fahrenheit 451 is certainly NOT about censorship. His war was with television usurping the value of books... Not censorships

"Gemfeller". Thanks! I did see similar stuff, with a mention of Madagascar. BTW, i'm a Sci-Fi opportunist: Dr. who, Star Trek, Firefly, both old and new Battlestar Gallactica, Firefly, Space 1999, Red Dwarf...etc. And yes, Star Wars!!!!!! LOL. Geek power!

Red Dwarf ... Also just to resurrect another long-lived gothic horror / sci-fi household name - at least here although less recently - Hammer House productions.

We are HUGE sci fi fans! Watching Dr Who is an important evening in our house. Been a fan since I was a kid. Love me some Tom Baker, the 4th Doctor. The current story arc is really good. Dr Who's companion becomes the first Cyberman. Ta Wisted! Love all the others mentioned and add Babylon 5 and Stargate Universe.
