Greetings from the Oregon coast! I have a friend and a customer who will be in the area to attend a wedding with her husband, and would like to do some local rockhounding in the area. Anybody know of good public locations to hound? Any information would be very much appreciated, Thank You and Warm Regards from the Oregon Coast... Oh on another note they will be traveling down from Oregon...

There are a number of locations on the trip down from Oregon depending on which way they come. Most of them are in the Rockhounding CA or Gem Trails of CA books.
Assuming they cut over and come down into Reno through Susanville I'll rattle a few off-
Davis Creek, Lassen Creek obsidian Cedarville Hayden Hill - scenic sandstone/jasper Hallelujah junction quartz crystals Susanville area agate/jasper/pet wood
In the Nevada books there is a chrysocolla location 40 miles north of Reno - right off the highway. Easy climb a few hundred feet up a hill, climb up the side of several giant soft tailings piles and dig for small pieces of mostly surface stained chryso to your heart's content. I found a couple of solid pieces that made an interesting cabochon.
Again, unless they are hardcore hounders I would tell them to invest in the books.

Stop in Western Oregon and nail some T-Eggs on the way down. . Probably close enough to do that but rarely do because of the distance. What part of the Oregon Coast?

Most of the Thundereggs are on the Central and Eastern side of Oregon, I am going down to McDermitt during the first week of September to to dig some eggs and possibly put a claim on some jasper too that a friend of mine located in the area. I am located on the Central Oregon Coast, Lincoln City and Have a rock Shop Called "Visions Rock Shop"...
