This was the plastic from a poster frame. It's a little too wide for comfort but it works like I hoped. flic.kr/p/XtprMPflic.kr/p/Xtps8Dflic.kr/p/XtpterI notched the ends and reinforced the edges with duct tape. It came with a plastic film that you are supposed to remove, I left it on for protection. I considered putting plastic wrap on it to help with scratches but I don't think I'll need to worry about it.

That's cool kevin24018, just a little wide in my opinion, be hard to reach around.

Let me be the naysayer in this thread. Instead of using a shield, go to the backside of the saw and pull instead of push. A little bit of misting occurs, but it's not daunting. Hell, on a hot day, it feels pretty good.
ETA: Today, as like the two previous days, I spent about two hours cutting on each day. T-shirt was a bit wet, but I didn't need to change it at the end of the day. If I was standing in front of the saw, I'd be looking for a shield. Standing on the backside doesn't produce any issues whatsoever..

The shield keeps me much cleaner that w/o it. This tile saw really slings the water high and far.

That's cool kevin24018, just a little wide in my opinion, be hard to reach around. it is, although I can reach around it, it will be more comfortable for me if it's not as wide. I just score it deeply with a utility knife and break it. I'll work on it some more.

If you removed the guard, I can see where that could make things a bit messier for you. My blade guard is still on the saw. Dave

Dave yeah meant the blade guard, took that off, they aren't useful for rocks and rather flimsy, not to mention I cut bigger rocks than I should, but gotta make due with what ya have.
