Tonight, I spent the evening getting dinner ready for my wife when she came home from work. I had it all planned out, did the prep, and things were all set when she came home. It wasn't fancy, but it served the purpose. While eating, my wife asked why I had spent so much time to prep dinner on a Friday. I looked at her, and dead seriously asked, "today is Friday"? All along, I thought today was Saturday. That's usually the day when I spend time to cook. Fridays are usually a night when we graze. Totally lost track of the day of the week. Maybe retirement has finally sunk in. If you don't get it, I guess you had to be there. Dave

The big newspaper comes on Sunday. Thanks for the reminder, but we don't get a newspaper any longer. That actually made me laugh quite a bit. Thank you sir. Dave

We always gauge the day of the week by "colored funnies day", thanks captbob.

Congrats Dave! My wife and I are both teachers, so we get to enjoy a short "retirement" every summer. Sometimes we have to stop to think about what day of the week it is too. I love that!

The only day that I have really nailed down is Thurs- trash day. CAN NOT forget the trash! Especially in the summer. I can guess weekends only because DH is sometimes in bed next to me when I wake up. He gets up at the crack of dawn..... and he LIKES it! Go figure.

Congrats Dave! As someone who has been off work since Q1 2016 I can officially tell you that the forgetting what day it is gets worse over time Last Tuesday I excitedly told Eva that my sis was coming over to watch momma tonight so where did we want to go for dinner? She just stared at me and said you know this is Tuesday right? Sister comes on Fridays... What I didn't admit to was that all day long I had thought it was Friday - you would think I would have realized at some point.

For me Game of Thrones day is Sunday. Rest the time I keep track by which horse I'm riding. If not for those things, my afternoon nap, from which I wake up usually thinking its the next day, would have me totally messed up on which day it is. I'm on my 18th year of retirement and keeping up with day of the week gets harder all the time....Mel

Didn't catch any news on the radio either, so nothing to clue me in. When it comes down to it though, I think I'll be pretty happy not remembering days of the week. Dave

My favorite thing about retirement is not being forced to drive hundreds of miles a day, be on call to work 24/7, and being able to rise and go to sleep by the sun instead of crawling round in the dark to go to work pre dawn. Day of the week hardly matters in the long run....Mel

After the first paragraph, I wasn't sure where you were going with the story aDave? Meanwhile captbob anxiously awaits the wife unit's return

I'd just go ahead and clear that search history about now, MrMikeETA: UNLESS...they were already saved on your hard drive. In that case, uh....you're good.?

Meanwhile captbob anxiously awaits the wife unit's return urk! Hey - I have way more hair than that and I am NOT fat like pudge boy there. Also, a LOT more guns and no guitars. eye bleach definitely in order! That guy is 23?? SUCKS to be his future. "Athletic" is stretching it - by a mile. Just curious, but what the heck were you searching to find such? Not that I really want to know.

After reading Dave's 1st paragraph my sick twisted mind said "OMG he's cooking for the wife in the nude". The interweb search was "naked Guy apron".....
