And to think, that's one of the pics I almost left out. Yes, There were more that didn't get posted. Hard to know how much is too much. I've had my eye on that piece for a while though, and really like the way it turned out. Glad you guys (gals? Is that PC these days?) enjoyed it. On a side note, I'm pretty good at staying out of the reflections, but that one got me! Gal is fine with me- just don't call me hon, lady or girl. Even better- broad. But, it doesn't look so good in print. LOL!

Thanks, Cliff! I like to run a mixed batch at all times, keeps it interesting for me. All my tumbles get a whopping two days in polish. In the Lot O. Now, the first stage? Forget weeks, most go months. That polka dot agate at 3:00 in picture #2 may just have the record. That sucker started out at twice the size and rectangular. It's hard stuff and I couldn't get it to the point I wanted. Tumbled off the most interesting feature, actually. It must have been passed over and left to tumble for 6 months or more, I can't even remember. The pet wood tumbled for months also, but the fractures would never go away completely, so no sense in tumbling them to pebbles. Just round them out and go. I try to do just as you advised a lot of us and tumble like that but your stuff is just the best. You take the same materials and get so much better results than I do. Guess I'll get better with more experience and patience. How was Florida? Awesome I bet. Need to hit that Florida area again in winter..
Yes, experience and patience. And my Lot O, Ha!
Florida was different this year. My Dad was admitted to the hospital the first full day there. Five days, a heart cath and 2 stents later, he felt better. Just glad he will be around for another try at a family vacation next year. So, a lot of running back and forth from the hospital to the beach. At least we had extended family and friends there to keep him company at all times. Rotations.
New Smyrna, captbob. We have been going there for 30+ years as a family. A lot of the same people show up every year, made some good friends. I'm sure you know, but it's an old town, never grew up. Pretty quiet. Daytona 15 min and Orlando 1 hr away. Also, the 'shark bite capital of the world'.

When it comes to posting your perfect photos of your mahvelous tumbles, there is no such thing as too much. As far as guys/gals goes - eh, no matter. I think I can speak for Tela here, we are just people, and don't care much about PC. That's just an excuse people who like to bitch use, lol. ETA - Okay, so Tela likes gal. I personnally have no preference. ETA 2 - Did not catch your reflection, lol. Would never have noticed it!

Beautiful. My favorites are the orbs in lid 13 and the Bots. I still haven't started my Bots. I'm trying to finish off a box of fairly crappy material before I reward myself with the fun stuff. I might not be able to wait after looking at these. I normally have to go ahead and sprinkle my new stuff in as soon as I get it. You waiting to do an all bot batch? That would be impressive. I typically do homogeneous batches. I mix stuff in the rotary, but I try to separate it in the Lot-O. I know it's not necessary, but that's just what I do.

Well, you have to be careful when identifying someone's gender these days. (Not here, I know) Who would have thought we would come to that?
"Glad you 'individuals' enjoyed it" sounds so impersonal. Right?

captbob #13 is lowly Brazilian agate! I had a box of baby Brazilians, some with funky rinds on them. This one had eyes. I was hoping to tumble long enough to get through the rind most of the way and leave some of the orbs. The one on the left is what I was hoping for. The one on the right was started much later, but a smaller piece, so I couldn't run it as long.
orrum, the red conglomerate? I'm not sure what that is or where it's from originally. It took a nice shine. Roger?

Randy Garage Rocker thanks for the tag. There's nothing more that I can say that hasn't been said already. Two whole days in polish? I laugh (at myself) as I'm coming up on about 3 weeks in polish for results that will be nothing like yours. Looks like you got a couple good mossy pieces in 14. Don't think I've been that lucky yet. Thanks for sharing. Dave

Thanks for sharing. Dave That's kind of the reward for leaving the rocks rolling in rough grind for so long. The victory lap, if you will. After a long slog in rough grind, they go into the Lot O for a week (120/220, 500, 1K and polish) and come out winners!

Free your soul! Get lost in my 'rock that rolled' and drift away, Scott. Listen to Dobie!
I dunno, seemed appropriate. Hope all is well.

Can you, or anyone spot them? I'll offer a small prize to the first person that get's it right.

I'll take a flyer at it, though I haven't gone through enough Bots to see a huge amount of variation. I'm guessing (heavy emphasis on the guess) it is the two brown rocks at the bottom of the photo that have orbs in them. Not the bottom-most rock, but the two brown ones next to it. ETA: Thinking I should have guessed the top two brown ones, since it looks like stuff you might have cut...the rest being nodules. Dave

I was going to say the top two big, brown ones, but Dave beat me to it.
