I haven't posted many new cabs lately because I've been busy with other things. These are some I finished up this week. Crown of Silver Psilomelane is one of my favorite cutting materials and I recently added a bunch of new slabs to my hoard. The ones below are the first I've cut from them and the cabs in the second image are a little different. One in particular shows the psilomelane patterns strongly contrasted against a matrix of what I've been told is reddish-brown manganese oxide. Whatever it is I think the contrast is quite appealing. The matrix is very hard and takes a great polish. Crown of Silver Psilomelane Psilomelane With Manganese Oxide Sugilite Shield Shape Cherry Creek Marra Mamba Tiger's-Eye Thanks for looking.

Love the psilomelene, but it sure is messy to cab. It will clog up a blade in nothing flat also! Almost killed a nearly new blade when it quit cutting and the power feed kept pushing it forward!

Love those! The red/brown psilomelane is really interesting, and those are really nice colors on those cherry creeks. I almost typed cherry cheeks, haha!

Thanks for all the nice comments folks. My internet connection's been down for 36 hours due to a city crew damaging the cable while doing an excavation. Nice to be back on line. Yes, slabbing psilomelane is a really tough job. If you have some you need to have done be cautious if you ask Tony catmandewe to do it. After his experience slabbing mine you might get an unpleasant response

Nice cabs, glad something good came out of that. I had to replace two blades on two different saws and change the bearings on one of the saws after I finished cutting those.

Tony Tony, You having a booth at Denver this year for the show? Where? Parking lot with the tents? Didn't see your business listed.

Tony Wow Tony, I had no idea it caused that much trouble. It's tough stuff but I know some people possess the "secret" of slabbing it because I used to see lots of slabs at shows. I used to know one guy who sawed it but he moved out of state and I've lost touch with him. Maybe some of our many Forum members can suggest their methods.

I wont be there, I have found that I only break even on short shows so I might as well stay at home as do all that work just to get my money back. I like the long show down at Quartzsite so I can set up and then then just hang out. We will be setting up early this year so we should be down in Q during December also. I do plan on closing a few days and going out to play though before it gets hectic. Tony

I used to know one guy who sawed it but he moved out of state and I've lost touch with him. Maybe some of our many Forum members can suggest their methods. I came across quite a bit of it in an estate, I never really cut much of it as it is so messy. Someone came by and bought most of it from me, so it was a relatively new experience. I thought the 10" saw would do most of it but the blade didnt even make it through the first stone so I finished it up on the 18", it ruined that blade and the bearings by the time I was done. Oh well, you learn something new every day. I would still cut some more for someone but it is going to be pretty expensive to cover costs! Tony

Busy later in January with the business but December might be a doable time for me to patronize your set up. Post when you are getting closer to set up time down there. Thanks Tony..
